The Murder Of Christine Silawan – What Happened To Her? Is The Case Solved

The Murder of Christine Silawan was a brutal crime that happened in 2019.

Christine Silawan, a high school student, was 16 years old when her dead body was found in a vacant lot in Lapu-Lapu City on March 11, 2019.

She was seen for the last time on Sunday while collecting donations for mass service at the local parish in Bangkal Village.

Her mother filed the missing report to The Philippine National Police (PNP) when she didn’t return home the entire night.

The police investigation

Some villagers who happened to be passing by the following morning were horrified to see a teenager’s lifeless body lying half-naked in the midst of a field.

When the police learned about the body dump, they sent a team to the area. The police initially believed that it was a rape and murder case.

It was claimed that Christine Lee Silawan was seduced into meeting him by her anonymous lover using a fake Facebook account before her death.

Silawan was discovered dead on March 11, 2019, with many stab wounds and her face damaged.

According to an autopsy, her tongue, trachea, esophagus, and sections of her neck and right ear were also missing.

The brutality with which Christine was killed led the authorities to believe that the killer may have been under the influence of drugs.

To determine how Christine arrived at the place, the police searched the area for CCTV footage, and the hunt for the killer began soon.

Who was Christine’s killer?

The Philippine National Police (PNP) announced that the killer of Christine Lee Silawan had been apprehended, and the murder case had been closed.

Renato “Renren” Payupan Llenes, 43, was the suspect who Police’s General Oscar Albayalde met face-to-face in Cebu City.

According to the PNP commander, the suspect confessed to his crime through an extrajudicial confession because his conscience haunted him.

He continued by saying that the suspect explained why he killed the Cebuano adolescent and how he went about doing it.

He claimed that Llenes lured Silawan using a fake Facebook account while pretending to be a young teenage boy.

The two remained in touch. When it was time to meet up for the first time on March 10 at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish church grounds, he acted as the driver of her claimed Facebook chat partner to convince Silawan to go with him.

According to Albayalde, the suspect claimed that he killed Silawan by repeatedly stabbing her with scissors in a jealous rage.

He claimed that Llenes used the skills he learned from YouTube tutorials to peel the Cebuana teen’s face to prevent anyone from recognizing the victim.
