When teens, offenses, and crimes are mentioned in a single sentence, it is very rare that in Texas, America the name of Charleston White is not included. Juvenile transgressor turnaround and newfound activist, the teen has managed to turn his life around.

The ex-Texas gang leader turned activist, Charleston White, was infamous for crimes in Texas, USA. He let go of his past criminal life when he was released from jail.

His outspoken attitude backed by his story which has inspired many others is what has made him stand out in the sea of social media influencers. He has since gotten out of jail and made himself a social media icon who shares regular content voicing out his views.

Redemption for Charleston White

Many people call him a snitch. The title Snitch is for someone involved in a crime life to spill his guts to authority, which is considered a cardinal sin in the criminal world. Collaboration with the police is something which shouldn’t be done, regardless of any reason.

Despite what he is or was being called, Charleston White continued to motivate people by sharing his past experiences and hoping that others take lessons from him. He knows he will be targeted for what he is doing.

In the social media realm, there will always be those who love and those who hate. He knows lovers call him motivational and inspiring while haters call him a snitch, among many other labels and names.

Reinventing Himself into Someone Motivational

Teen Texas ex-gang leader has managed to turn his life around and reinvent himself as a motivational speaker. He served jail time for his juvenile offenses and law-breaking, and after being released has since shown contempt for his conducted transgressions.

Charleston White has a criminal background and is a prime example of someone who can achieve no matter what he sets his sights to. Despite his background, Charleston White appears in front of the public and gives motivational speeches.

Charleston White’s Rise to Prominence

Charleston White has garnered a huge following of fans for himself on his YouTube channel. His nature of video content and given his criminal background, he has also attracted negative criticism for his videos and has been referred to as a snitch.

This is what has led him to be termed a controversial online figure. Many people say he shouldn’t be saying things like he is to the police or to the public. There is an unsaid code that Charleston White has broken.

After the controversial and global coverage of George Floyd’s death, Charleston White took to the internet and commented on the scenario which brought him to the spotlight and center of attention.

What struck out was his criminal record history and his spending jail time. A person like this is rarely seen speaking about the truth and justice.

The teen Texas gang member has since categorized himself as a social media influencer.

Charleston White – Who Is He?

The 52-year-old is a recognizable figure in the realm of online stars and the digital world. He has shared transparent stories which have illuminated the internet, his followers on YouTube, and social media in general.

As said above, his rise to prominence occurred when he controversially commented on the then-prevailing issue of George Floyd and also of Earl Simmons, an American rapper and songwriter who also went by the stage name DMX, meaning Dark Man X.

He describes himself as active in religious activities such as in church. People find him motivational because he has managed to stand as a pillar in his community and because he also has been voicing against juvenile crimes.

He is also enrolled in Bachelor in Criminal Justice from Texas Wesleyan University.

Criminal Background

Even though his whole life is probably foreshadowed by his prevailing criminal record and history, Charleston White has somehow managed to turn his life around. He was charged with several severe charges for which he was jailed.

The fifty-plus re-established speaker has thanked the Fort Worth system and has appreciated the “Texas system for saving my life.

Helping Young People Excel or HYPE

His motivational videos and speaking have been backed by him being the founder and initiating an organization titled Helping Young People Excel, known as HYPE in short.

HYPE has dedicated itself to helping estranged teens by educating them.

Along with education, HYPE also helps them deter from turning towards a life of crime. Charleston White plays a key role in this regard.

Being the CEO of the company, he is perfectly poised to be where he is given his background. His comments on George Floyd and DMX are evidence of the fact.

“My story gives hope to those who’ve lost it. It shows victims and their families that even the worst individuals can change their lives and make a difference in society,” Charleston White once said.

His group has also worked directly with the Hispanic gang, Fort Worth’s largest gang.

Jail Sentencing of Charleston White

When he was 14, Charleston White along with his friends shoplifted some jackets. When they were confronted, the man who faced them was shot dead in a parking lot.

Speaking to Texas Tribune, Charleston White said at the time, “I was, for all intents and purposes, a murderer. I didn’t pull the trigger, but I was responsible for the shooting death.”

He was sentenced to jail and was one of the first juveniles in Tarrant county to be sentenced under the Texas Determining Sentence law.

With his 18th birthday just around the corner, something remarkable happened. Four juvenile correctional officers literally put their jobs on the line when they decided to plead Charleston White’s case to the judge.

After his sentencing was revoked, he returned to the Giddings State School where he stayed until he was almost 21.

The Road Ahead for the Reinvented Charleston White

Now a father of two children, Charleston White travels the country sharing his experiences and knowledge.

He describes this as “sharing my knowledge, qualitative experience, and story of redemption in hopes of making a positive impact.”
