Anna was a talented pianist and Bible teacher. Until her engagement was limited by sickness, she continued to be active in various religious activities.

Anna Stanley rose to fame after her marriage to Charles Stanley. Her spouse held the senior pastor position at Atlanta, Georgia’s First Baptist Church.

The couple struggled with their marriage life and parted ways later in 2000. When the couple finalized their divorce in 2000 after more than 40 years of marriage, it garnered media attention.

The news of their separation was not well received in Southern Baptist circles, where biblical principles strongly condemned divorce.

They tried everything to get back together, including marriage counseling with licensed therapists and physicians, but it was ineffective.
