Jeffrey Dahmer lived With His Grandmother In Herbert Walter Dahmer’s House
In December 1981, Jeffrey’s father, Lionel, and his stepmother, Shari, moved him to live with his grandmother in West Allis.
Jeffrey Dahmer lived with his paternal grandmother, Catherine, for roughly seven years starting in 1981 due to Jeffrey’s alcoholism and neglect of his room at his grandfather, Herbert Walter Dahmer’s house.
His father moved Jeffrey and his grandmother to Herbert Walter Dahmer’s house in the hopes that she would motivate Jeffrey to change his ways.
He temporarily lived with her again before moving into the Oxford flats in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, before and after spending time at the House of Correction on work release in 1989.
The Shrine of Jeffrey Dahmer claims that Jeffrey only showed affection for Catherine.
Jeffrey went to church, did his chores, and looked for work before he moved in with her.
While living with Catherine, Jeffrey worked for 10 months as a phlebotomist at the Milwaukee Blood Plasma Center. He was hired in January 1985 by the Milwaukee Ambrosia Chocolate Factory as a mixer.
However, Jeffrey’s grandmother persuaded him to leave in September 1988 due to his continued drinking and late-night entertaining of young men.
She also expressed concern about unusual odors coming from her basement and garage.
She requested him to leave, but he was unable to do so because of his numerous incarceration at the time and his inability to find housing in between stints in jail.
Dahmer was finally able to find a place for himself. He relocated to an apartment with one bedroom at 808 North 24th Street.
In March 1989, he returned to his grandmother’s house.
Dahmer permanently left his grandmother’s home in May 1990 and went into the infamous Oxford Apartments, where he murdered 12 people.
They were in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on North 25th Street.
Authorities revealed that Catherine Dahmer was unaware of what was happening within her house.
This is also depicted in that way in the new Ryan Murphy Netflix series. She doesn’t recognize the odor and trusts her grandson when he says it comes from things like his taxidermy.
