However, the Philanthropist has made a significant impact, most recently by funding cataract removal surgery for 1,000 individuals who were blind or nearly blind but couldn’t afford the procedure.
MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, proudly announces in a video that reached 32 million views, “We’re curing a thousand people’s blindness.”
The video showcases the before-and-after transformations of patients who can now see clearly thanks to the surgery. The YouTuber also gifted cash and other presents to some of the recipients.
The surgeries were performed in Jacksonville, Florida, with the help of ophthalmologist and surgeon Jeff Levenson.
Levenson has been running the “Gift of Sight” program for over 20 years, which offers free cataract surgery to uninsured patients who are blind due to cataracts.
MrBeast’s giving spirit extends beyond this latest stunt. He is also a part of a movement to plant 20 million trees alongside influencers such as Elon Musk, Jack Dorsey, and more.
