The first NBA All-Star Weekend was held in 1951 in the Boston Garden. Every year, the competition takes place in different cities. In 2025, it will take place from February 14 to 16, and this time it will be in the San Francisco Bay Area. It will be hosted by the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center. It is the first time the NBA All-Star Game will be held at the Chase Center.
New format
Commissioner Adam Silver has been consulting with Stephen Curry on possible All-Star Game changes. He wants to figure out how to make the event more competitive. The league has changed the format several times in recent years, and 2025 will also feature a different format. A new format being proposed is having three squads of eight players with a fourth team consisting of players from the Rising Stars event.

Events at Chase Center

Events at Oakland Arena
The Ruffles NBA All-Star Celebrity Game will take place on Friday, February 14. It will feature a wide array of celebrities from the worlds of sports, music, movies, and more.
The NBA All-Star Practice presented by AT&T will be held on Saturday, February 15. It will feature the players and coaches who will take part in the game the next day.
The NBA HBCU Classic presented by AT&T will happen on Saturday, February 15. It will feature Morehouse College vs. Tuskegee University. These teams were selected for their commitment to excellent, rich traditions, and on-court rivalry. The NBA is committed to increasing support for HBCU athletics.
Additional fan activities
An interactive fan event blending basketball, art, music, and technology will take place at Moscone Convention Center from February 14-16.
Live concerts will take place at Pier 48 throughout the weekend. While performers have not yet been announced, past performers have included Keith Urban, Lil Wayne, Pitbull, Jack Harlow, Zedd, and T-Pain.
