Can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and got to where you are today. You can include as little or as much detail as you’d like.
Born and raised in India with aspirations that were too hard to believe, I earned my Masters in Information Technology and started my work life in 2012.
After switching roles in different organizations for four straight years, I realized it wasn’t for me. I quit with no savings and no source of income in my hand.
After a prolonged struggle, selling everything I had to survive, massive debts piling up each day, I realized I had touched the bottom. With no ray of light and an additional anxiety disorder to spice things up, all I was left with was the power of manifestation.
Since there was no scope of adding another disaster, I knew it was time for me to bounce back. Affirmations, manifestations and mindfulness were my initial targets to fix my mental and emotional state. It took around six months, but I managed to recover on my own.
I always knew my targets. I started learning about the main pillars of building a brand – design, development, content, research and marketing.
I spent days reading, researching and mastering the domain. All the knowledge combined created my first portfolio and eventually my leading company- Creatick Studio.
And the technology that lifted Creatick was Blockchain. From 2018-2020, I helped many blockchain startups to build their brand.
Blockchain adoption just started taking place, and I took that opportunity to catch as many projects as I can.?
For the first few months, I did everything at the backend and portrayed it as a company in the Frontend.
My work life lifted off in a matter of months. I used all my skills to help people build their startups and take them to the next level. The year 2018 marked a successful start of my entrepreneurship career, and I travelled to various countries to meet people and attend conferences.
Last year in 2020, I entered the world of E-commerce with my new venture – Weink Studio. It showed exceptional results in the first few months, and this year, we are expanding it to ten times what it is right now.
This year, two more startups are in the pipeline, and we plan to expand our team, turnover, and user base. I still call it a beginning.
Has it been a smooth road? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It never was smooth, but it was a fantastic ride. If it had been effortless, I would be just 2% of what I am today.
The struggle is what carves your mind and your soul.
People follow motivation. Never Give Up, Don’t Quit, you are halfway there, things take time, you either win or learn – they have probably read stuff like this over 100 times when they start with their dreams.
Yet they end up being one of the 90% who give up on that inspiration when things break down. What happens with the 10% is that they never surrender.
Tell us about your business/company. What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of as a company? What sets you apart from others?
In this interview, I would specifically like to talk about my brand – Weink Studio. It was my first approach to the Clothing and E-commerce domain, and I had no idea it would capture the Indian market so well in just a matter of months.
Our motto is to spread Minimalism via our clothing, prints, packaging and just everything that comes in between.
We believe subtly, and elegantly that makes people stand out without being loud. Our creative thinkers are constantly working on things to ensure that the overall concept follows Minimalism religiously.
What are three pieces of advice’s you can give to young people?
The first piece of advice would be to invest in knowledge. Never think of investing money into something you dream of but hold no knowledge of the same.
Write down your ideas, do vigorous research, follow businesses in a similar niche, read whitepapers and pitch decks, study the market, do a competitor analysis and most importantly, learn at least the basics of branding. All of this requires your laptop and Internet.
Second advice would be to follow people who inspire you. They will always be your biggest motivation.
And the third one would be to think out of the box. The only way to enter such a competitive market is to do something that no one else is doing OR create something no one else has yet created.
What is your favourite book?
I would probably write the names of two:
What excites you about travelling? And which is your most loved travel gadget?
Since I am a globe trotter, everything excites me about travelling. Here’s what I would include: booking, packing, driving to the airport, waiting for my flight, the flight, staying check-ins and check-outs, renting vehicles, meeting people, trying out cuisines, exploring the unexplored, trekking, weather, photography and videography.
About my travel gadgets, I always carry my DSLR, a couple of lenses, tripod, monopod, Action Cam, EarPods and a massive power bank. These are my most loved gadgets, and I don’t move out, leaving any of them behind.
You are passionate about so many things. How do you cope up with everything in your busy schedule?
It’s hard, but I try to give time to everything I like and trust me, it’s an automated process now. I am a powerful learner, and I never stop feeding my brain with something new every single day.
A new song on the guitar, contemporary digital art for my portfolio, a new business idea, something new and different to make my Business stand out more, a piece of sketch, writing a page of my next book, stock trading, writing articles for blogs and the list goes on… I don’t want to stop!!
